Website: Gives Me Hope

Today i got a text from my boyfriend instructing me to go into my bedroom for 15 minutes.

When he text me to come out again, i walked into a flood of pink balloons. He told me he'd blown up all 730 of them by himself -- one for each day I've fought cancer.

His amazing soul GMH

When I was 8 years old, I was in a car crash and lost my left arm.

For 14 years, I've dreaded having to put on my prosthetic arm everyday.

5 months ago, I woke up and went to put my arm on. I found it with a ring on the finger, and a note in the hand that said, "Liz, will you marry me?"

My fiance`'s love for every piece of me GMH

Years ago, I told my best friend, Matt, that I couldn't go to senior prom with him because my parents couldn't afford to buy me a ticket or a dress.

The night of the prom, Matt showed up at my door with a beautiful red dress, matching shoes and corsage, and a two tickets to prom.

3 years, a marriage, and one child later, he still GMH.

I had an uncle, who every day would wake up and say good morning to life.

A few years ago, he died unexpectedly. When I went to his funeral, the church was PACKED full of teenagers. Turns out he volunteered at a local high school, and many of those teenagers told me they wouldn't be alive today without him.

His love of life and all people GMH.

Letters to Crushes

Somewhere Out There,

I don't know who you are. I don't know where you'll be traveling from when we finally meet. I don't know what you'll look like when you smile. I don't know what your voice will sound like when I'll look over at you in the morning from across the bed.

But I do know this:

When we finally meet, I will make sure that your travel was worthwhile. When I finally see your face, I'll make it my mission to put that smile exactly where it should be. And when we wake up, I'll be there to make the coffee while you make our eggs.

-Patiently Waiting

Leslie, if you're reading,

i dont care that you like milk instead of water. or that you cheat in every chess game. doesnt really matter to me that you suck at spanish, cant play soccer for your life, or think babies are ugly. I don't even notice your bad hairdays anymore. I think its funny when you knock stuff over. And i know you've bounced from school to school to school this year, and that your mom puts her glass of wine before you. I like that your number has three consecutive 9s in it. And that you know more asian history then american. I like that you don't complement yourself. You don't scream when your scared. Your ears aren't pierced, your nails aren't painted. Skirts make you look shorter. I can use you as my arm rest.

you are everything i want, not everything i need. i love you leslie. now take it and run like i know you will.

The way you dance in the middle of the hallways, the way you walk into doors, the way drop almost everything you touch, the way you blush all the time, the way you drum on the computer when you hear one of those old rock songs, the way you always say the weirdest things, the way you still think star wars is a cool thing, the way you know everything but still remain so clueless, the way you let your hair fall in your beautiful face, the way you burst into a song in the middle of a class, the way you see life as nothing but a beautiful thing.

These things up there, are just a small amount of all the things I love about you.

You stole my heart.

I know I’m taller, but I promise if we sit side by side on a couch and I lean into you, I’ll fit just fine.

My boyfriend of more than a year battled cancer throughout all of his childhood. After going through some rough times, he told me,

"Loving you and being with you makes up for having cancer. I think God put me through cancer first so that I could be rewarded later with an angel."

Last week I found out that I have dissociative identity disorder, which means I have multiple personalities.

I told my girlfriend, she smiled at me and I was confused. She told me that she already knew and that she loved ALL of me.

She is my hope.

Today I visited my grandparents house, where I saw a valentines card on the table.

The card read 'My darling wife, you are the one who makes my life complete and I'll love you as long as I live'.

My grandad's a widower.

His undying love GMH.

Today is my birthday. A couple months ago I was attacked by a dog that left horrendous scars on my face.

My boyfriend made a book that says "You're the most beautiful thing I have ever seen" in over 100 different languages.
