Beauty Fades
It’s easy to enjoy each other while on a vacation in Maui. The key is to find someone you can have fun with during the six hour flight over there. ~Tom Arnold
Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down. ~Oprah
"Sexiness wears thin after a while and beauty fades, but to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day, ah, now that's a real treat." ~Joanne Woodward

Hellish Turmoil
"When we hate our enemies, we are giving them power over us: power over sleep, our appetites, our blood pressure, our health, and our happiness. Our enemies would dance with joy if only they knew how they were worrying us, lacerating us, and getting even with us! Our hate is not hurting them at all, but our hate is turning our own days and nights into hellish turmoil." ~Dale Carnegie

Don't Leave Me
DON'T GO FAR OFF, NOT EVEN FOR A DAY- Pablo Neruda
Don't go far off, not even for a day, because --
because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.
Don't leave me, even for an hour, because
then the little drops of anguish will all run together,
the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift
into me, choking my lost heart.
Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;
may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance.
Don't leave me for a second, my dearest,
because in that moment you'll have gone so far
I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,
Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?
Don't go far off, not even for a day, because --
because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.
Don't leave me, even for an hour, because
then the little drops of anguish will all run together,
the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift
into me, choking my lost heart.
Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;
may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance.
Don't leave me for a second, my dearest,
because in that moment you'll have gone so far
I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,
Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?

No Matter Where You Run
"You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-You-Are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." You call yourself a free spirit, a wild thing, and you're terrified somebody's going to stick you in a cage. Well, baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somaliland. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself." ~Breakfast at Tiffany's

Better than Yourself
"Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure." -George Woodberry
"Many of life's failures are people who do not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." -Thomas Edison
"What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?" –Robert Schuller
"Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself." -William Faulkner

Fearless
To me, “FEARLESS” is not the absence of fear. It’s not being completely unafraid. To me, FEARLESS is having fears. FEARLESS is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, FEARLESS is living in spite of those things that scare you to death. FEARLESS is falling madly in love again, even though you’ve been hurt before. FEARLESS is walking into your freshmen year of high school at fifteen. FEARLESS is getting back up and fighting for what you want over and over again… even though every time you’ve tried before, you’ve lost. It’s FEARLESS to have faith that someday things will change. FEARLESS is having the courage to say goodbye to someone who only hurts you, even if you can’t breathe without them. I think it’s FEARLESS to fall for your best friend, even though he’s in love with someone else. And when someone apologizes to you enough times for things they’ll never stop doing, I think it’s FEARLESS to stop believing them. It’s FEARLESS to say “you’re NOT sorry”, and walk away. I think loving someone despite what people think is FEARLESS. I think allowing yourself to cry on the bathroom floor is FEARLESS. Letting go is FEARLESS. Then, moving on and being alright…That’sFEARLESS too. But no matter what love throws at you, you have to believe in it. You have to believe in love stories and prince charmings and happily ever after. That’s why I write these songs. Because I think love is FEARLESS. ~Taylor Swift

Letters to Crushes
"I want to know what colour of paint is on your bedroom walls. I want to know whether you cross your legs when you watch your favourite show. I want to know what your fingers would feel like in mine. I want to know what your hair looks like when you wake up in the morning. I want to know what books made you cry. I want to know your favourite architect. I want to know how hard you can hug. But most of all I want to know if you want to know the same things about me."
"The reason I am so in love with life, is because I am so in love with you.
PS-
You’ll probably never realize just how many times you’ve saved me.
The fact that I’m in love with you scares me more than anything.
You’re my other half, and you know it. Stop pretending."
"You are a whole playlist on my ipod."
"You are my hero, and I strive every day to be worthy of the love of someone like you."
"you’re a beautiful mind, and a pretty face. you’re a pure heart, and a telling truth. you’re no lip service, but you’re a perfect kiss. you’re a perfect mess, and a comfortable surprise. you’re all sorts of wonderful."

This is Her Curse
"I Know I Haven Been Happiest" By Dorothy Parker
I know I have been happiest at your side;
But what is done, is done, and all's to be.
And small the good, to linger dolefully-
Gayly it lived, and gallantly it died.
I will not make you songs of hearts denied,
And you, being man, would have no tears of me,
And should I offer you fidelity,
You'd be, I think, a little terrified.
Yet this the need of woman, this her curse:
To range her little gifts, and give, and give,
Because the throb of giving's sweet to bear.
To you, who never begged me vows or verse,
My gift shall be my absence, while I live;
But after that, my dear, I cannot swear.

"Love is letting go of fear."
A truly creative person rids him or herself of all self-imposed limitations.
“It's not the situation that's causing your stress, it's your thoughts, and you can change that right here and now. You can choose to be peaceful right here and now. Peace is a choice, and it has nothing to do with what other people do or think.”

Happiness
"It is only possible to live happily-ever-after on a day-to-day basis." ~Margaret Bonnano
"Perhaps the biggest source of unhappiness…stems from the idea that there is someone out there who will meet all our needs, because it turns us into needful children, waiting to be fed…We are not vessels in need of filling up, we are persons in our own right with resources of our own."~Merle Shain
"Most people would rather be certain they’re miserable, than risk being happy." ~Robert Anthony

My Soul is not Content
"Tonight I Can Write"
I can write the saddest lines tonight.
Write for example: ‘The night is fractured
and they shiver, blue, those stars, in the distance’
The night wind turns in the sky and sings.
I can write the saddest lines tonight.
I loved her, sometimes she loved me too.
On nights like these I held her in my arms.
I kissed her greatly under the infinite sky.
She loved me, sometimes I loved her too.
How could I not have loved her huge, still eyes.
I can write the saddest lines tonight.
To think I don’t have her, to feel I have lost her.
Hear the vast night, vaster without her.
Lines fall on the soul like dew on the grass.
What does it matter that I couldn’t keep her.
The night is fractured and she is not with me.
That is all. Someone sings far off. Far off,
my soul is not content to have lost her.
As though to reach her, my sight looks for her.
My heart looks for her: she is not with me
The same night whitens, in the same branches.
We, from that time, we are not the same.
I don’t love her, that’s certain, but how I loved her.
My voice tried to find the breeze to reach her.
Another’s kisses on her, like my kisses.
Her voice, her bright body, infinite eyes.
I don’t love her, that’s certain, but perhaps I love her.
Love is brief: forgetting lasts so long.
Since, on these nights, I held her in my arms,
my soul is not content to have lost her.
Though this is the last pain she will make me suffer,
and these are the last lines I will write for her.
I can write the saddest lines tonight.

Great Teachers Inspire
The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called "truth." ~Dan Rather
A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. ~Henry Brooks Adams
A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. ~Author Unknown
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. ~William Arthur Ward

Quote Collection: Mae West
An ounce of performance is worth pounds of promises.
He who hesitates is a damned fool.
I never loved another person the way I loved myself.
When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before.

Lyrics: Don't Give up on Me
I don't to church enough
I curse out loud, I drink too much
I'm more of a sinner than a saint
Got a dusty Bible on my shelf
I just pick it up when I need help
Lord know there's a lot I need to change
And I want to, baby, you make me want to
You tie the knot
When I'm at the end of my rope
You never stop believin' in me
When I don't know who I am
Or what I'm supposed to be
I don't give you no good reason
But baby, don't give up on me
I've smoke my last cigarette
At least a hundred times I bet
I guess I'll just keep quittin' til' it sticks
But for all the things I've failed to do
I've never failed at lovin' you
We both know I can't grant your every wish
But I want to, baby, you make me want to
I curse out loud, I drink too much
I'm more of a sinner than a saint
Got a dusty Bible on my shelf
I just pick it up when I need help
Lord know there's a lot I need to change
And I want to, baby, you make me want to
You tie the knot
When I'm at the end of my rope
You never stop believin' in me
When I don't know who I am
Or what I'm supposed to be
I don't give you no good reason
But baby, don't give up on me
I've smoke my last cigarette

I guess I'll just keep quittin' til' it sticks
But for all the things I've failed to do
